Butler Soho is supposedly one of the best bakeshops . When I wrote my Google review about my experience, I saw so many comments saying "Thank God we have a Butler in the city !" or "It's about time!". I must have been living under a rock, because walking back Butler this morning, no bells were rang. I stepped inside as an alternate to the Starbucks that was up the block before my first French class today. I was greeted by a beautiful well designed indoor dining area. The light fixture specifically caught my eye. If I hadn't been in such a rush, I would have loved to dine indoors. Please note that Butler does require vaccination cards for indoor dining!

The selection of pastries is vast! Butler doesn't just serve the typical croissant. The menu boasts a Mixed Berry Yogurt Loaf, and Herb and Chili Scone and my personal selection of the day, a Breakfast Empanada. The $8.50 pastry is made of scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, arugula, cheddar cheese and then topped with dukkah, which is an Egyptian spice blend.

Along with my food, I grabbed an Oat Milk Chai Latte, as usual. I ate my food in the outdoor area, which made for a quick escape when I ready to book it to my class. The empanada had some really great flavors. A deep and smoky taste to the eggs made for a tasty breakfast. I especially loved the sesame seeds sprinkle over the top of the fresh and soft crust. My ONLY complaint is that I wish my pastry was warm! I took a little bit of time to get it to me, so I know they made an attempt warm it, but the eggs were just room temperate. The chai was delicious as well. Butler may just become a staple in my Monday morning commute.
