After taking a stroll up from Soho, a friend and I were looking for a quick bite to eat with a good solid coffee. I spotted the outdoor terrace of Cafe Social 68. We were en route to Maman in Little Paris, despite my past scathing review of it. (Check that out btw.) We setttled on poking our heads in here for the much needed rest after hours of walking around the city all day. We settled on a delicious Leek and Parmesan Pastry for me with a Iced Chai Latte with whole milk for her. There were a set of 4 tables outdors in their outdoor dining area. Each wooden table came with a cute little succulent in pot decorating it. The interior of the shop was dark and moody, with a trendy twang. Open fashion magazines were laid out on small stands and in the furthers corner was a turntable with a few records. I guessed that pre-covid, they have indoor seating with records playing.
The taste of the items was decent. The latte was described to me as "just okay" by my friend. Leek and Parmesan pastries are my favorite French savory snacks. I was very excited to try to taste them again as the last time I had one was over three years ago. This one was fine. It felt like there wasn't much filling at all but what was there, was cold. The barista offered to heat it up for me, so I was expecting a tasty warm pastry on a muggy day. Instead, I got a cold one. This pastry has a cheese and really is a totally different mouth feel when its warm so it didn't do the taste justice at all.

I enjoyed my time resting at the cafe and the baristas were friendly and quick. However the food was not anything particularly special. I couldn't see myself coming here just for the food as I have at other cafes.
